Welcome to the Carricato Art Gallery, all canvas paintings are for sale.
The story begins in May of 1934 in the snowy Rocky Mountains. Vera "Skufca" Carricato was born to Mary and Steve Skufca in the mining community of Crested Butte Colorado. Raised in the beauty of the Colorado Rockies Vera began painting landscapes of her life on oil canvas. She attended Western State Colorado University in Gunnision, Colorado and in 1956 she received her Master's of Arts in Education and Art Studies. In 1957 she was married to a childhood friend, Frank Carricato III. The couple moved off to California and had two children (Steve Carricato & Kristi Rodeback) along the way. All of this time Vera painted her life's landscapes to include the beaches of Hawaii, California, Ireland, Alaska, and Colorado, all while teaching elementary school education. Vera passed in April of 2018, but her art work continues to live on. You can now view her works at the Western State Colorado University's Art Museum, the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum, and now right here on the VVC Drums website. Getting the ideas from her Grandmother's art work, Valerie has started reprinting some of Vera's best work to continue her legacy. In addition to Vera's works, her entire family has started creating canvas prints to include: Tracie Carricato, Steve Carricato, and Valerie's own works as well. This page will be frequently updated with different works!
